Section House, First Class A section house
like this was used to house a section gang. A section gang was a
crew of workmen assigned to maintain a specific section of
track. Some of the space in the building might also be used as a
bunk room for laborers working on construction projects. A 1st
class section house was used along long sections of mainline
track. Each section house could house as many as eight to ten
men by providing double bunks in one of the three second floor
rooms and by using two small rooms on the first floor as
bedrooms instead of as store rooms or pantries. The standard
design Northern Pacific section house came into use starting in
1889. Some remained in service until after the second World War
when employees would use their own cars to commute from their
own homes. Smaller versions of this design and other variations
also were built. HO Scale: EH214 $69.95 |

The Dollar
Bros. Motor Express Back When Freight Was Freight.
Today we take services like UPS and Fed-X for granted, but in the early days a business like Dollar Bros. Motor Express was rural America's lifeblood. It's a pretty basic operation-rail freight in and out one side and wagon and truck freight in and out of the other-yet the importance of an operation like this to a growing nation was huge. This HO scale craftsman kit consists of laser-cut walls and roofs, Grandt line windows and doors, plus Strip wood and our own Pewter detail parts to add the extra level of detail that really makes a structure like this shine. There are over 40 detail parts in the kit but only a few are depicted here so you can get a better idea of the building itself. The freight area features interior detail, making it a great candidate for interior lighting (not included.) The shingles are our own Genuine Cedar Shingles, and of course all the wood is from Kappler Mill & Lumber Company. EH207 Dollar Bros.
Motor Express, HO Scale $69.95. |

We do not offer this as one of our standard products. Questions Please: E-mail . |
